A negative pressure ambulance is a specialized vehicle designed for transporting patients with infectious diseases.
These ambulances are equipped with a negative pressure system. This system works by maintaining a lower air pressure inside the ambulance compared to the outside environment. This ensures that air flows from the outside into the ambulance through special filters, while air from inside the ambulance is filtered and discharged in a controlled manner. This helps prevent the spread of infectious agents to the outside environment.
Negative pressure ambulances play a crucial role in safely transporting patients with highly contagious diseases such as COVID-19. They provide a secure and isolated environment for the patient and protect healthcare workers and the general public from potential exposure.
The interior of these ambulances is typically equipped with medical equipment and supplies necessary for patient care during transportation. They are staffed by trained medical personnel who are equipped to handle emergencies and provide appropriate care to the patient.
